Daily Business – SharePoint 2010 & Safari Browser

So, as my Mom bought a mac, I had to try safari on my new SharePoint 2010 RTM virtual machine. But at home, my safari runs on Windows Server 2008.

So this is what I’ve seen:

Task Result Visual
Browsing Whow. Really fast! zoooom ….
Sign in as different user Safari just ignores… cannot login as different user. There just comes no login box …so you have to close and reopen safari
Reload has not effect.
On IE 8 works fine.
(I have to say: client is in a different domain, authentication is windows integrated)

Document Upload No multiple document upload (due to missing ActiveX) image
View Document (withVisio Services are installed)
(Visio)
If you click open in download dialog, document ist temporarily saved in …AppData\Local\Temp….
and a new IE windows is opened and document is shown in  ActiveX in Internet Explorer

  1. Just checking in as I have users who are using Safari and this post was helpful! Do you know if using SP1 has helped at all or if there are any “plug in’s” or anything to try to get Safari to “work” with SharePoint 2010? I know some of the users of Mac WANT / NEED multiple upload!
    Thank you!
